Fira Bona 2026, Palmanyola
6 - 8 March 2026
Organisers of the XIII Fira Bona de Palmanyola have confirmed a notable change of direction for the 2026 edition of the event, signalling the beginning of a new chapter for one of the island’s most established village fairs. Taking place from 6 to 8 March 2026 in Palmanyola, the event—traditionally known as Fira Bona or Fira del Cavall—will move away from its long-standing format. Instead, organisers are promising a more immersive approach that reimagines the role of the fair within the village itself.

From Horse Fair to Village Experience
For many years, Fira Bona has been closely associated with Mallorca’s equestrian culture. Horses have been at the heart of the celebration, drawing breeders, riders and visitors interested in rural traditions and island heritage. Previous editions have typically featured horse parades and exhibitions, riding demonstrations, medieval combat displays, artisan stalls and food markets showcasing local produce.
Beyond the equestrian programme, the fair has also functioned as an important social fixture, bringing together live music, street entertainment and traditional Mallorcan gastronomy in the heart of Palmanyola.

A Step Back in Time
For 2026, the organising committee says it is time to rethink the concept. Under the motto “Un Pas en el Temps” (A Step Back in Time), Palmanyola itself will become the stage for an immersive historical journey spread across the entire village.
Rather than a series of scheduled shows, the organisers describe a continuous experience in which visitors move through themed environments, performances and visual storytelling over the course of three days. Plans outlined so far include historically inspired settings integrated into public spaces, live performances unfolding throughout the weekend, and a redesigned market and food offering aligned with the event’s narrative.
Full details of the programme are expected to be announced closer to the event, but the emphasis, organisers say, will be on atmosphere and participation.
Why You Should Visit
As always the Fira Bona XIII – Fira del Cavall promises to be more than just a horse fair; it’s a community gathering where tradition meets modern entertainment. While the equestrian roots of Fira Bona remain an important part of its identity, the 2026 edition reflects a broader ambition: to combine local history and tradition with a more theatrical, immersive format that invites visitors to experience Palmanyola in a different way.
Mark your calendars and head to Palmanyola on March 6 - 8, 2026, for an unforgettable experience!
