Fira de la Sípia | Cuttlefish Fair in Alcudia

Every spring, the coastal town of Port d'Alcúdia transforms into a vibrant hub of maritime culture and culinary delights with the Fira de la Sípia—a festival dedicated to the cuttlefish. This much-anticipated event, running from April 11 to 13, 2025, combines seafaring traditions, gastronomy, and entertainment, making it a must-visit for locals and tourists alike.

Saturday, 12 April


10:00 – Opening of the fairgrounds
Location: Moll Vell & Passeig Marítim
Featuring:

  • Nautical exhibitors

  • Demonstrations by Guardia Civil units (underwater unit, maritime service, etc.)

  • Traditional boatbuilding workshop (by the Consell de Mallorca)

  • Exhibition from the Boat Maintenance Training Programme (PQI)

  • Information stands by SOIB, CIFP l’Embat, and the Balearic Oceanographic Centre


10:00–15:00 – Information point on nautical training and career opportunities


10:00 & 14:00 – Model boat exhibition by the Club de Modelisme Naval de Mallorca
Location: Passeig Marítim


All day – Art exhibition by José María Espinosa
Location: Passeig Marítim


From 11:00 – Opening of the restaurant tent
Location: Gabriel Roca Street (esplanade)


11:00–13:00 – Children’s play area: “Espai de Colorins”
Theme: Learning about the Balearic Islands and the sea through play
Location: Plaça Pintada


12:00–14:00 – Family activity: “Find the Caparrots”
A treasure hunt with characters from the Estol del Rei En Jaume


16:30 – Parade: Estol del Rei En Jaume and the Giants of Alcúdia
With traditional musicians (xeremiers)
Start location: Church of the Port


20:00–01:30 – "Music & Cuttlefish" Night at the Restaurant Tent
