Nestled in the heart of the Tramuntana mountains, the picturesque town of Sóller and its surrounding areas - Port de Sóller and Fornalutx—celebrate their rich citrus heritage each year with the Fira de la Taronja (Orange Fair). This delicious festival, taking place from 10 - 26 April, 2026, highlights the region’s renowned oranges and citrus fruits, offering a delightful blend of gastronomy, culture, and community spirit.

The Vall de Sóller has long been famed for its orange groves, which have played a crucial role in the local economy and culture for centuries. The Fira de la Taronja was established to honour this legacy, bringing together farmers, artisans, chefs, and visitors in a grand celebration of the citrus harvest.


2026 Event Highlights


Throughout the festival, local restaurants in Sóller, Port de Sóller, and Fornalutx will feature special menus highlighting citrus-based dishes. Visitors can savour creative interpretations of traditional Mallorcan cuisine infused with the flavours of oranges and lemons. Thursday, 9 April — Opening Day


Sóller Town Hall (Ajuntament de Sóller)

  • 11:00 — Inauguration of the Local Products Exhibition: a showcase of locally made orange and citrus products, on display at the Town Hall atrium through 26 April.

  • 11:00 — Launch of the 'How Many Oranges?' Competition: guess the number of oranges in the display and win a gift hamper of premium citrus products plus two free passes on the Sóller Train.

  • After the abovePresentation of the Orange Fair programme at Hotel El Guia, including the launch of the gastronomic showcase at local restaurants (10–26 April).

Saturday, 11 April — Main Fair Day


Plaça Constitució & Mercat Municipal, Sóller

The fair runs 10:00–16:00 at Plaça Constitució, with citrus variety displays by the Sóller Agricultural Cooperative, the Orange Market (produce and products for sale), and a gastronomic and trade showcase across the square, Municipal Market and surrounding streets.

  • 10:00–14:00Family Workshop: garland-making with citrus fruits, in the Municipal Market (run by Sa Llosa Petita).

  • 10:30Xeremies (Balearic bagpipes) performance by the Xeremiers de Sóller.

  • 10:30Liquid Gastronomy Show: citrus cocktail demonstration by students of the Balearic Islands Hotel School, with contributions from Cabraboc, Gin Sóller, Licores de Mallorca, Licors Tramuntana and Finca Can Roc.

  • 11:00Citrus Sweets Competition: judging of the best sweet citrus creations (entries submitted 9:00–10:00 at the Town Hall).

  • 11:30–15:0020th Anniversary Tastings: select citrus preparations at €4 per serving, from Albatros, Alemany Restaurant, Barretes Restaurant, Do de Pit, Es Canyís, Pruna Gelateria, Sa Figuera, Sabores y Colores and Cervesa Sa Sullerica.

  • 11:30QUACK Marching Band: roving street performance starting at the Municipal Market and parading to Plaça Constitució.

  • 12:30Official Opening Ceremony at Plaça Constitució: pregó (opening address) by fair godfather Guillem Coll Plaza, alongside local authorities and the Valentes Dones. Includes announcement of winners of the 'How Many Oranges?', shop window display, Citrus Sweets and Canonetes competitions.

  • 13:30Xeremies concert by the Colles de Xeremiers de l'AMS.

  • 16:30–18:30Family Workshop: Orange Fair badge-making (run by Sa Llosa Petita).

Sunday, 12 April — Fair Continues

Plaça Constitució & MUCBO Museum, Sóller

The fair continues 10:00–16:00 at Plaça Constitució — citrus variety exhibition, Orange Market, and the VIII Mercadet d'Estocs (local traders' bargain market).

  • 10:00–13:00Family Workshops: bag decoration with citrus motifs, at Plaça Constitució (run by Sa Llosa Petita).

  • 12:00"Citrus of the Sóller Valley" Historical Presentation at MUCBO Museum: talk followed by a tour of the citrus and fruit tree collection, with a tasting of canoneta orange juice. Free, but registration required — limited places.

  • 12:00–13:00Live Music: acoustic performance by ÀnimaAcústicA, at Plaça Constitució.



Saturday, 18 April — Guided Visits Day

Sóller & Fornalutx

  • 10:00–13:00Children's Theatre & Face Painting: storytelling show 'Around the World' for children aged 5–7, at Plaça Constitució, Sóller (by Kids and Us Sóller).

  • 10:45Guided Tour — "Tradition and Evolution of Sóller's Orange Groves" led by agronomist Joan Deya. Meet at Tafona Can Det, C/ Ozones 8, Sóller. Suitable footwear recommended. Free, limited places. Book via WhatsApp: 696 33 86 69.

  • 18:00Orange & Citrus Coca (flat cake) Competition.

  • 19:00Taronja d'Or (Golden Orange) Awards Ceremony with music by the Xeremiers de Fornalutx. This year's Taronja d'Or honour goes to Margalida Llobera Sampol.
