Fira De Les Feines De Tardor D’Es Capdellà (Calvia)

Calvià launched the Fira de les Feines de Tardor (“Autumn Work Fair”) in 2016 to spotlight rural life and seasonal tasks—harvests, craftwork and livestock—central to the area’s identity. The inaugural edition drew large crowds with animal exhibitions and a traditional agri-food market; since then the fair has returned each November, growing into a fixture for locals and visitors alike.

Es Capdellà is a small inland village in the municipality of Calvià, huddled beneath the silhouette of Puig de Galatzó at the south-eastern edge of the Serra de Tramuntana. The settlement took shape at the end of the 17th century around local crossroads and the nearby Galatzó estate—today part of a UNESCO-listed cultural landscape and one of Mallorca’s loveliest public finques.

What the fair is about

At its heart, the fair is a window onto Mallorca’s pagesia (rural way of life):

  • Traditional & agri-food market: stalls with local produce (olives, oil, preserves, sausages), cheeses, pastries and artisan crafts.

  • Animals & country skills: small stock exhibitions and demonstrations (e.g., sheepdogs) that show the know-how behind autumn work.

  • Hands-on culture: children’s workshops, popular dances and street parades that turn the village lanes into a community party.

  • Tools & memory: displays of old farm implements and heritage pieces tie today’s festivities to the island’s working past.

Key dates at a glance (2025)

  • When: Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 November 2025

  • Where: Village centre of Es Capdellà (Calvià), beneath Puig de Galatzó

  • What: Ninth edition of a livestock, agri-food, craft & gastronomic fair with markets, demos, music and family activities.

What guests can expect in 2025

While the detailed hour-by-hour programme is announced closer to the weekend, the recent editions provide a reliable template for 2025:

  • Bustling village market both days, with producers and makers from around Calvià and the Tramuntana.

  • Rural demonstrations—from animal shows to practical displays of autumn tasks—plus the always-popular sheepdog exhibition.

  • Kids & families: craft workshops, traditional games and roaming performances that keep younger visitors busy between stalls.

  • Music & dance: live performances and ballades populars (folk dances) that give the fair its village-festival feel.

  • Heritage add-ons: many visitors combine the fair with an easy walk or short drive into Finca Galatzó, where signed trails and historic buildings connect the day’s market buzz to the landscape that inspired it.

Practical tips

  • Arrive early for parking and a leisurely circuit of the stalls before midday gets lively.

  • Bring cash: most vendors take cards, but cash speeds up small purchases.

  • Shoes for cobbles: the village lanes are stone-paved; comfortable footwear helps.

  • Make time for Galatzó: if you have a spare morning or afternoon, the estate’s trails start just beyond the village.

Why it’s worth your weekend

The Fira de les Feines de Tardor delivers exactly what many travellers come to Mallorca for in autumn: real local life—flavours grown nearby, crafts made by hand, music and dance you’ll only hear in small plazas—and all of it framed by the Tramuntana’s foothills. For two days each November, Es Capdellà turns its rural heritage into a party, and everyone’s invited.
