The Fira de s’Oliva was first held in 1998 to celebrate the olive harvest and promote Caimari’s deep agricultural traditions. Since then, it has grown into one of Mallorca’s best-known autumn fairs. The 2025 edition will mark its 28th year, continuing a tradition that honours both the landscape and the island’s rural heritage.

Caimari: the village behind the fair

Caimari is a small mountain village at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, in the municipality of Selva. Surrounded by ancient olive groves, the settlement has long been tied to olive cultivation and oil production. The village itself grew along the old pilgrimage route to Lluc, and today it is still best known for its centuries-old olive terraces and the craft of olive oil making.

The fair will take place on the weekend of 15–16 November 2025. As always, the streets and main square of Caimari will be transformed into a bustling open-air market and cultural celebration.

What the fair is about

Over two days, the Fira de s’Oliva brings together food, crafts and folklore around the theme of the olive:

  • Olive oil and tastings – Visitors can sample fresh oils, table olives, traditional tapenades, cheeses, breads and seasonal sweets.

  • Craftsmanship – Artisans showcase olive-wood bowls, utensils and furniture, along with other handmade goods from Mallorca.

  • Live demonstrations – Traditional olive pressing is shown in action, with the historic mill in Caimari open to visitors.

  • Culture and folklore – Folk music, dancers, parades of capgrossos (big-headed figures), and the sound of Mallorcan bagpipes animate the streets.

  • Family activities – Exhibitions, tastings and workshops offer something for all ages.
