The Fira de sa Carabassa 2025, Muro

The Fira de sa Carabassa is Muro’s autumn fair dedicated to the pumpkin. It grew out of the long-established Fira de Tardor (Autumn Fair), which took on a pumpkin theme in 2007. Since then, the event has been celebrated every year around the second Sunday in November. Activities traditionally begin on Friday and continue through the weekend, bringing together gastronomy, crafts, music, and plenty of family fun.
Pumpkin competitions—especially for the heaviest and most spectacular gourds—have become one of the highlights, with prize-winning pumpkins often weighing well over 200 kilos.

About Muro


Muro is a traditional town in the Pla de Mallorca plain, close to the S’Albufera wetlands and the beaches of Playa de Muro. It has a long agricultural history dating back to Roman times, while its sandstone buildings, weekly market, and folk traditions keep its rural character alive today.

  • Saturday 8 November: Market stalls, food tastings, family workshops, games, and cultural events spread through the old town.

  • Sunday 9 November: The main fair day, featuring the craft and produce market, the tapas and wine showcase, and the traditional pumpkin contests (including the native pumpkin competition).

  • 4:30 PM – Pumpkin Carrying Game (for kids up to 14) – in front of Town Hall

  • 6:00 PM – Book presentation: Olvidar el Olvido – Sala Polivalent

  • 6:30 PM – Embroidery Exhibition by Maria Ordinas – Town Hall entrance

  • 7:00 PM – Lantern Parade (Processó de Llanternes) through the town

  • 7:30 PM – Children's Fire Run (Correfoc Infantil) – Dimonis de Sa Pedrera

  • 9:30 PM – CarabassaMusic concert with Romàntic Drum & Sing – Plaça de Sant Martí


Friday, November 7 -


  • Evening: Tapa Night (Nit de Tapes) and Bar Crawl (Correbars) around local bars: Bar Sami, Bar Olímpic, Piroska, Bar Sa Placeta


Saturday, November 8 -


  • 10:00 AM–1:00 PM – Guided nature walk at s’Albufera Natural Park

  • 11:00 AM – Pumpkin Lantern Workshop – Plaça dels Abeuradors

  • 12:30 PM – Balloon Burst (Globutada) – Town Hall Square

  • 3:00 PM – Bike Trial and Mini-motorbike Championship – Sports Centre

  • From 10:30 AM – Authorities visit stalls with traditional pipers (xeremiers)

  • 11:30 AM – Street Music by Muro’s Musical Union Band


Sunday, November 9 -


  • 11:45 AM – Prize Ceremony for “Find the Pumpkin” game

  • 12:45 PM – XIX Pumpkin Contest – Balearic Championship of Native Pumpkins
