The charming yet large town of Felanitx lies on the South East of the Island. If you’re looking for a permanent home Felanitx offers fantastic amenities, great school choices and a prime location within easy reach of stunning beaches, and the hubs of both Manacor and Palma. Its close proximity to some of the most sought-after seaside resorts on the island make it a perfect, much more affordable option for a holiday home or rental property.

There are many state and chartered schools locally, the town also lies only 20 mins drive from the Rafa Nadal International School in Manacor and less than 30 mins drive from the Tudor Rose British school in Porto Cristo.
Location
Felanitx is less than a 20 min drive to the stunning coastal resort of Cala d’Or and other beautiful beachside locations along the south-east coast such as Cala Sa Nau and Cala Mitjana, an area which continues to be an extremely popular destination for holidaymakers.
History
The town dates back to the 13th century, and evidence of its deep historical roots can be found by looking at its architecture and landmarks such as the beautiful Sant Miguel church in the town, as well as the enchanting medieval Sant Salvador Monastery and Santueri Castle on the outskirts.
Tourism
Drawn to it's beautiful historical sites and proximity to the gorgeous south-east coastline, tourist interest in Felanitx is currently on the rise, with many businesses now relying on the influx of visitors the town receives every year. The area's wine production is also a draw. The area surrounding Felanitx is the second largest wine-producing area in Mallorca where vineyard tours and wine-tasting at Bodegas abound.
Community
The sense of community spirit is strong in Felanitx. There are regular market days on Sunday morning, offering all types of local produce, including wine, peppers and capers - all of which the town is famous for. The town hosts the fabulous Fira del Pebre Bord or Red Pepper Fair in October each year. The local community take great joy in this event, whereby everyone joins the festivies, which include weird and wonderful Red pepper dishes, as well as local delicacies made with Pebre Bord including traditional mallorcan Sobrassada. Traditional Music, Dancing, Workshops & Kids Entertainment.
Average house price
In Felanitx you can really snap up a bargain. The average price of property in Felanitx is €1.406 per m2, well below the island average of €4,083, so despite it being just a short drive to some of the most sought after coastal resorts on the island, and only 20 mins from the hub of Manacor, your money can go really far for you. There are multiple options available in. terms of property type - In Felanitx town centre beautiful, characterful townhouses can be found as well as more modern apartments. In the outskirts you can find stunning rural fincas fully renovated or much bigger projects. Something for everyone!
