Fira del Pebre Bord 2024

Fira del Pebre Bord or Red Pepper Festival in Felanitx, Mallorca

Sunday 20th October 2024

Every October, the town of Felanitx in Mallorca bursts into life with the colourful Fira del Pebre Bord or Red Pepper Fair—a celebration of one of the island’s most prized ingredients: the pebre bord (red pepper). This versatile spice, especially in the form of paprika, plays a key role in Mallorcan cuisine, particularly in the production of the famous sobrassada sausage. Held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, this lively fair invites visitors to immerse themselves in the region's culinary and cultural heritage. Here's everything you can expect from this extraordinary event:

What to Expect at the Red Pepper Fair

The Fira del Pebre Bord is a feast for the senses, where the rich flavours of pebre bord shine in traditional and innovative dishes. Visitors can sample unique recipes that showcase the spice's versatility while also indulging in an array of Mallorcan delicacies.

Aside from the culinary delights, the festival also offers a glimpse into Felanitx’s artisanal crafts, with workshops and exhibitions that celebrate local talent. Traditional Mallorcan dance, live music, and folk performances add an energetic rhythm to the day, with the much-anticipated Baile del Pebre Bord (Pepper Dance) at the heart of the celebrations.

Families will find plenty to enjoy, including street food stalls, children’s entertainment, and exhibitions. The event also features a livestock show, classic car exhibitions, and motorbike displays, making it a well-rounded experience for all.
