Mostra de Sa Llampuga: A Fresh Fish Celebration in Cala Ratjada

Mark your calendars for October 11-13, 2024, as Cala Rajada hosts its beloved Mostra de Sa Llampuga (Lampuga Show) during the annual Cap de Setmana del Peix Fresc or Fresh Fish Weekend. This exciting three-day event celebrates the Mediterranean's bounty, particularly the local lampuga fish (also known as Dorado or Mahi-Mahi), with a lively mix of food, music, and community.

 

Day 1: Tapas Night

Kick off the festival on Friday, October 11, with a vibrant Tapas Night from 7:30 PM to 2 AM, featuring a delightful culinary competition at 9 PM. Stroll through Cala Rajada Pier, tasting local tapas creations before enjoying live music by The Funkiss and Tanny Bard from 10 PM onwards.

 

Day 2: Sea Verbena

Saturday night brings the festive Sea Verbena from 7 PM to 3 AM, starting with a traditional fish dish and desserts at 7 PM. Dance the night away to live music by Iden Tic Al Souls at 10:30 PM and the Discovers at 1 AM.

 

Day 3: Lampuga Show & Gastronomic Fair

Sunday, October 13, is all about celebrating the star of the weekend—the lampuga! From 12 PM to 10 PM, the XXI Lampuga Show and Gastronomic Fair offer a chance to taste delicious lampuga dishes. Wrap up the weekend with a stunning fireworks display at 10 PM.
