Cala Ratjada’s Mostra de Sa Llampuga—the island’s beloved ‘mahi-mahi’ fair—grew out of the autumn llampuga season that peaks off Mallorca’s east coast. By 2004, the fair was already in its third edition, placing the inaugural event in 2002. It quickly became one of the island’s most important culinary gatherings, celebrating the seasonal fish harvest each October. After a pause during the pandemic years, it returned strong and continues to attract thousands of visitors every year.
What the Fair Is About
Across a long weekend, Cala Ratjada’s fishing pier transforms into a lively gastronomic festival. Local restaurants, hotels, and fishing associations offer dozens of ways to enjoy llampuga—from croquettes and carpaccio to fideuàs and paella. There’s live music, artisan stalls, and a lively seaside atmosphere. It’s part food fair, part street party, and entirely dedicated to this seasonal fish.
Key Dates in 2025
The event traditionally takes place on the second weekend of October, and the 2025 edition is expected to run:
Friday, 10 October – Tapas Night featuring the 15th Tapas Contest.
Saturday, 11 October – Verbena Marinera (harbour party) with seafood paella and live music.
Sunday, 12 October – Mostra de la Llampuga, the main gastronomic fair, held throughout the day.

Practical Tips
Go Hungry on Sunday: The Sunday fair is the highlight, but popular dishes can sell out—arrive early in each session.
Walk if You Can: Parking around the harbor gets tight; staying nearby or walking in from the town center makes for a more relaxed visit.
Check the Official Program: Final times and any special events (like fireworks) are usually announced a few weeks before the fair.
