Fira de sa Perdiu | Partridge Fair | Montuïri

The Fira de sa Perdiu or Partridge Fair in Montuïri, celebrated on the 1st December, is a lively and unique event. This fair is distinct from other island fairs due to its special focus: the traditional partridge competition.
In the days leading up to the fair, a range of cultural and sporting activities take place, culminating in a popular festive toast and live music performances on the eve of the event.
Sunday 1st December; In homage to its strong agricultural roots, the fair features local agricultural produce and a variety of activities, such as displays featuring local farm animals. The streets of Montuïri and the Plaça Major are bustling with a vibrant array of stalls offering traditional foods, hand crafted artisan products and more.
However, the centrepiece of the Partridge Fair is of course the traditional partridge competition, drawing attendees not only from the local community, but those interested in partridge breeding and hunting from all over the island, as well as international visitors from far and wide coming to witness this unique spectacle. Fira de Sant Tomàs – Fira de les Matances | Sineu

The Sant Tomàs Fair in Sineu is a vibrant celebration marking the year's end with deep roots in Mallorcan culture. Centred around the tradition of matances (pig slaughtering), the event honours rural heritage while showcasing local gastronomy, music, and crafts. The fair's highlight, the XVII Show of Matances, reenacts traditional pig-slaughtering practices, accompanied by tastings of sobrassada, wine, and winter dishes inspired by this custom.
A packed schedule of events ensures an exciting day for visitors. The festivities kick off with a parade of xeremiers(bagpipers) and giants, followed by traditional dance performances, live music, and competitions such as the Fat Pig Contest and international poultry and pig farming showcases. A hunting exhibition and a display of native Balearic livestock further connect the event to its rural roots. Meanwhile, the craft and Christmas market adds a festive touch, offering unique gifts and regional products.
The fair concludes with evening entertainment, including live music and DJ performances. Combining authentic traditions with modern festivities, the Sant Tomàs Fair offers an unforgettable experience of Mallorcan culture, making it a must-visit event for both locals and visitors.
Almond Milk Fair | Fira de la Llet d’Ametlla | Pla de Na Tesa | Marratxí

The Almond Milk Fair (Fira de la Llet d’Ametlla) in Pla de Na Tesa, Marratxí, is a cherished annual event celebrating Mallorcan heritage and the artisanal craft of almond milk production. Held every mid-December, the fair is now in its 17th edition and serves as a festive prelude to Christmas. It offers a rich blend of tradition, culture, and family-friendly activities, making it a highlight for locals and visitors alike.
The fair features a bustling market with artisanal products, local delicacies, and almond milk at its heart. A lively parade adds to the festive atmosphere, accompanied by music, folklore, and spring-like weather. Visitors can also explore the fascinating history of almond milk through hosted talks, tracing its roots to the 17th-century Convents of Santa Maria del Camí.
Among the highlights are demonstrations of almond milk production using traditional mills, maintained by four dedicated local families. Guests can savour a traditional recipe flavoured with lemon, cinnamon, and almonds, evoking its convent origins. More than just a market, the Almond Milk Fair is a celebration of Mallorcan culture, preserving its artisanal legacy and inviting attendees to enjoy a uniquely festive experience.
Christmas Markets in Mallorca
Christmas Markets or Mercats de Nadal are a festive tradition across Mallorca, typically running from late November through to the Three Kings celebrations in January. The markets are a perfect opportunity to soak up the holiday spirit with twinkling lights, handcrafted gifts, and seasonal treats. Some markets are one-day events, while others are open on specific days or daily. It's best to check the local Ajuntament website or social media pages for the most up-to-date timings and dates.
Markets are usually held in the Plaza Mayor of each town, where the square and surrounding streets are transformed into vibrant, festive scenes. Stalls offer a wide variety of items including jewellery, decorations, textiles, nativity figures, and local crafts. Alongside the handcrafted goods, visitors can enjoy traditional festive food like churros, sweets, bratwurst, and waffles, along with warm drinks such as mulled wine and hot chocolate.
